Easy Strawberry Milk

Are your kids getting bored of drinking plain milk?

Then, I’ve got you!

Once my kids drank their weights in my Homemade Chocolate Milk, it was time to have them try something new – Strawberry Milk. Since I was borderline obsessed with strawberry milk as a kid, I knew that I had to bring it.

It took several tries – some too sweet, some not enough strawberry ump, some too much cinnamon – but the final recipe was perfect *chefskiss!

The secret to getting the perfect amount of strawberry flavor – take frozen strawberries and let them thaw before adding the strawberries along with their juices to the milk. That’s it, that’s the secret. The magic is really the thawed frozen strawberry juices – which have a thick, naturally sweetened strawberry syrup consistency. To thaw the strawberries, I add mine to a bowl and microwave for 30-60 seconds. I mean, you can leave them on the counter or in the fridge for a few hours, but when I want a glass of strawberry milk, I want it now!

My kids took a sip of my perfected recipe, their eyes popped open, and then they proceeded to chug an entire glass of the strawberry milk like they were animals at a watering hole in the Serengeti before slamming the glasses on the counter and saying, I slayed it (which I had to immediately had to google what that meant lol).

Spread of ingredients on a marble counter to make strawberry milk.

Ingredients Needed

  • Milk: use whole milk or any plain unsweetened plant-based milk, such as soy, almond, coconut, etc.
  • Frozen Strawberries: frozen strawberries that have been thawed along with their natural juices will provide a more intense strawberry flavor. Fresh strawberries will work, but depending on the ripeness and season, they will have a lighter and fresher taste.
  • Maple Syrup or Honey: for a little sweetness. You can also use agave nectar.
  • Vanilla Extract: use pure vanilla extract for the best flavor.

Let’s Get Mixing

Recipe Tips

  • You can use fresh or frozen (and thawed) strawberries, but frozen will give the best flavor.
  • Try adding in a few slices of banana for a yummy strawberry banana milk – like a milkshake but lighter.
